Even though we're not in the big City, it doesn't mean you can't go to the movies...
Volunteers organized a showing Sing 2 in the park, at Miners Bay - it was a walk-in, or a sit-in, not a drive-in, with people brining chairs, blankets and goodies to eat and drink. The movie projection and the sound track was top-notch - almost like Cineplex!
We're guessing about 150 people showed up for this "movie-by-donation event", raising money for the Terry Fox Foundation. Young and old attended, with lots and lots of families with younger tikes. Over $900 was raised.
Imagine if you were a youngster on Mayne Island for week, or for the summer, and you get to stay up late, eating popcorn, watching this moving under the stars... What a night to remember!
