While we were still in bed this morning, lightning struck not too far from The Grove. Maybe it hit Pender Island across Navy Channel, or maybe somewhere on Mayne Island. Lightning is rare on the coast but obviously, it happens from time to time.
It was a loud crack. The kind that is immediate and shakes the house down.
The two dogs got pretty scared (we’re dog-sitting Tali).
Over the next hour or so, we heard the thunder two more times and by then, Rukus was suspicious it might happen again, so he took refuge where it’s the safest: under the table, next to Dana, while she’s doing dishes.
